Volunteering

We can’t do it without you!

Tuggeranong Tornadoes is an organisation that fully relies on volunteers. We cannot operate without the assistance of parents each week. Roles include managing an age group, recording results, running the timer or the electronic starting gun, working in the canteen, cooking the BBQ, setting up and taking down equipment, just to name a few.

Tuggeranong Tornadoes have a roster each season and parents are required to sign up for one session when they register their child/children — either in the canteen, or assisting with setting up or packing down the equipment. In addition, parents can help with the smooth running of events throughout the morning to make sure we all get away on time! Every parent is an important and valued part of the Tuggeranong Tornadoes family. Without your help, we wouldn’t be able to run the club for our children and the community. It is a lot of fun to get involved and the athletes love to see their parents and carers also taking part!

Join the Committee

Little Athletics is also one of the few sports where parents can be fully involved in their children’s sporting interests. Why not join the Committee?! We often have a range of positions available that require only a small  time commitment from our volunteers. See our Committee page for position descriptions and vacancies. We understand that just like our athletes, our parents come from a diverse range of backgrounds and as such have different talents and experience – we would love for you to get involved! Whatever your experience, don’t feel scared about putting your hand up and ‘giving it a go’.

After all, isn’t that what we ask our kids to do?
